Character Appearance: Laura is 5’1” and her build has a lot of lean muscle mass due to years of intense physical training. She is fair skinned, has straight black hair that reaches down to the middle of her back, and has green eyes. She tends to favour dark clothing that is close fitting in fabrics that still allow her plenty of freedom of movement. When the temperature will allow for it, she prefers sleeveless tops. Her footwear of choice involves flat boots, usually mid-shin height or just below the knee. Her hair is usually worn loose.

Powers and Abilities: Laura possesses a number of superhuman physical attributes, the most prominent among them being her accelerated healing factor. She can survive explosions, high radiation, having her neck broken, being shot, etc. and she has been able to reattach her severed hand without stitches and have it working properly again in a matter of minutes. Her strength, speed, reflexes and stamina are superhuman - albeit only slightly above peak human levels. Her senses are enhanced as well. She can track by scent on par with a seasoned bloodhound, and can see in the dark. Laura has some psychic resistance, although she isn’t completely immune. A very powerful and skilled telepath can get into her mind. Laura also has an eidetic memory.

As for Laura’s skills, she has been trained to be a weapon since she was a very small child. She is well versed in combat, surveillance, poisons, weapons, forgery and stealth. She also knows how to drive, although she does not possess a driver’s license.


What Did Your Character Wish For? Laura wished for the safety of her remaining family members - her aunt Debbie, her cousin Megan, and her genetic father whom she was cloned from, Logan.
What Potion Did They Receive? Red.
Did They Drink It? Eventually, yes. After she determined that people who drank it weren’t suffering any ill effects. She has earth elemental power. Currently it is passive, in the form of seismic sense, functioning similarly to a bat’s echolation. Through vibrations in the earth she will be able to sense nearby people or things, and know if they are moving or stationary as well as their approximate size and build. She would also be able to sense if there was a hidden basement. It can reach up to 10 feet. She has no active elemental ability at the moment (ie. cannot manipulate the earth) and will require power enhancement via crystals to gain that ability.

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most?

Laura is the most bonded with her genetic father, Logan. Although she has only known him for a short time in person, her entire existence was to be a clone of him as Weapon X. She was the first successful attempt after 22 failed ones, hence the codename X-23. She grew up following training programs based on his training. Although she initially tried to kill him when she first met him, he showed her nothing but compassion and understanding, having received a letter from her mother explaining everything. He invites her to come to the Xavier Institute, and when the government agency S.H.I.E.L.D comes for her to make her answer for her crimes, he tries to help her escape. She holds onto his jacket that he gave her. Although she is very close with her cousin Megan as well, Logan is the one who best understands everything Laura has gone through.

2. What are they most afraid of?

Laura is the most afraid of Kimura, her handler from the Facility. Specifically, she is afraid of Kimura making good on her promise to kill everyone that Laura cares about. Kimura has been extremely abusive of Laura since Laura was seven years old. She is a remorseless and sadistic killer, who can manipulate her molecules to make her semi-impervious to most kinds of harm.

3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically?

Laura is socially stunted, having been raised to be a weapon. She had some minor socialization from her mother, geneticist Sarah Kinney, but she is still fairly poor at ordinary social skills and understanding what’s appropriate. As an example, when she starts her first day in high school with her cousin Megan and is in French class, the teacher asks for an example of her language skills, and she proceeds to recite protocols for international information gathering, mentioning bribes and torture. This gets her promptly sent to the principal’s office (understandably). She doesn’t have a good grasp of figures of speech, either. When she and Megan are suspended and Megan says “My mom’s going to kill me”, Laura asks her what sort of training her mother has had.

Emotionally, Laura has had a traumatic life, with very few positive experiences. She has been trained to be a weapon, and will take a cold and methodical approach to many things. However, when she does form a positive bond with someone who has been kind to her, she forms it very quickly because she is starved for affection and connection. There is always a lingering fear that her loved ones will be killed by the Facility - either Kimura or another operative, to punish her.

Mentally and physically, Laura has been conditioned to respond to a trigger scent. By pairing the scent with painful stimuli in the conditioning process that took place over years, she now automatically reacts to that scent by going berserk. She has never been able to resist its effects. This has resulted in her killing people she would never have killed willingly - her sensei and her mother.

4. What would make them happiest?

The thing that would make Laura the happiest would be knowing that Kimura and the Facility were no more, so she could live her life freely without worrying that they will hurt people she cares for. She would also like to find a sense of purpose and feel a sense of belonging.

5. What’s their type for a lover?

She would be the most likely to fall for someone who was confident, assertive, capable in combat, with a kind side (though it need not be obvious until getting to know the person better). Though not actively thinking about such things, someone who showed that they could hold their own in a fight and consciously make the choice to help others would appeal to her and inspire her.
